To be honest, I have tons of favorite book quotes. I have read almost four hundred books, and if a book has as least two great quotes, then how many if we really count all of those pretty words? *crying* T_T So yeah, this Tuesday topic is definitely difficult. I want to write them all down here, of course, but it would be literally impossible. I have the urge to only write some book quotes about books, but at the same time I can't just throw away words from my favorite Jane Eyre or The Perks of Being a Wallflower's Charlie or Counting by 7s' Willow.
1. "So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."
—Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower
2. "It's a shame, Kath, because we've loved each other all our lives. But in the end, we can't stay together forever."
—Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go
3. "I'm stardust. I'm golden brown. I'm just one small bit in a vast expanse."
—Holly Goldberg Sloan, Counting by 7s
4. "Do you think I am an automaton? —a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! —I have as much soul as you —and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you."
—Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
5. "People populate the darkness; with ghosts, with gods, with electron, with tales. People imagine, and people believe; and it is that rock solid belief, that makes things happen."
—Neil Gaiman, American Gods
6. "I have always been a reader; I have read at every stage of my life, and there has never been a time when reading was not my greatest joy."
—Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale
7. "The marks humans leave are too often scars."
—John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
8. "A book is more than a vessel for ideas: It is a living thing in need of love, warmth, and protection."
—Jonathan Auxier, Sophie Quire and the Last Storyguard
9. "In any chaos, there was always comfort in stories: they took me out of myself and helped me understand who I was and who I wanted to be. Whatever your problems, a book is a point where you can stop in a moving world."
—Jen Campbell, The Bookshop Book
10. "I really feel like the books have souls, you know. When I walk past the shelves, they stir, and whisper, 'Why haven't you read me yet?'"
—Jen Campbell, The Bookshop Book
